What is a Base Unit?
A base unit is the most important part of your PC, also known as a desktop computer. This is the heart of your PC. Base units provide memory storage & backs up your computer. This is the main box where you insert your CD’s or disks. Base units have many different designs, styles, colours and sizes.
Sizes?
Base Units come in a range of different sizes such as a smaller base unit would cost around £200 - £300 and larger base unit would cost around £400 - £800. The better base unit the better the memory storage and it runs better.

Why have I chosen this?

What is a Monitor?
A computer monitor is an important part of the machine. A computer monitor displays the output from the hard drive, video card and CDROM. Without a monitor, a computer is not operational.
Sizes
Smaller monitors like 19-inch displays are used by people who only need a simple view for e.g. spreadsheets and documents. Wide-screen 22-inch monitor displays are the most useful for gamers. Even larger monitors are available for people who like flashy displays with a high-powered machine.

Why have I chosen this?
The reason why I choose to talk about Monitors is that their is plenty of information to talk about and the information about Monitors people can learn more about them. Also they can learn more about specific information on monitors for example if they want to learn more about the resolution of a Monitor. The reason why I choose to talk about databases and spreadsheets is that they are very important for people who want to learn more about microsoft office applications. Databases and spreadsheets are helpful for many people who use them everyday and for business people using them during work times can find lots of information on the interent.

What is Microsoft Office?
Microsoft Office is a Software used in many different ways for e.g. Spreadsheets.
Microsoft Office is a group of computer software tools which provide the important functions which are needed in an office environment.
What is the Price of Microsoft Office?
The price of Microsoft Office is around £50 – £100.
Why have I chosen this?
The reason why I have chosen this is because it’s a very good software and it is easy to use. Microsoft Office is that there are numerous amounts of people using Microsoft Office everyday for example people using it at work. Also Microsoft Office helps with writing letters and sending them in e-mail. I personally would use this if I wanted to send a letter I would write my letter into Microsoft Word then save it into my files and send it by e-mail. I would recommend using Microsoft Office for people who like to send letters, present PowerPoint’s and more Microsoft Office can help in many ways.
What is Sky Broadband?
Sky broadband is a fast going broadband & it is good for accessing the internet quickly. Sky broadband is cheap and it is unlimited so it lasts for a month.
How much does Sky Broadband costs?
Sky Broadband costs 7.50 a month for the broadband plus you get your Sky TV and calls free. If you get a package such as movies it will cost you more.

What is MSN Hotmail?
Msn Hotmail is used for sending and receiving emails. You can receive notifications on social networks such as Facebook to let you know that you have messages on your profile.
Why have I chosen this?
I have chosen this because it is useful to use and it is good for sending emails. Msn is useful for storing files onto it this is called Skydrive this lets you store plenty of files and it lets you edit them.

A USB is a data storage device that consists of flash memory. It is a small device and it is portable so you can take it around with you. USB’s are often used for the same purposes for which floppy disks or CD-ROMs were used. They are smaller, faster and they have a lot more memory capacity.
Why have I chosen this?
The reason why I have chosen this is because they are very useful and they are easy to carry. They provide plenty of memory capacity and it lets you sync the memory into your computer. Also it lets you copy information on your computer into the USB so that if you lose your work on your computer you can be able to get it back by syncing it back into your computer using your USB.
External Hard Drive
What is an External Hard Drive?
An External hard drive is a hard disk located outside of the computer. External hard drives store your valuable data and add a large level of safety and security. Also it provides protection and it backup’s devices on your computer.
Why have I chosen this?
Computer Games
A Computer Game is a video game played on a console or personal computer (PC). A computer game is a small disk that you insert into your computer or console. They are light to carry around and they are kept in a case to protect the disk. To play a computer game you need a controller to play it (Only for a console).
