Different Types of Computer Systems





Your base unit is the main part of your PC, also known as a desktop computer.
This is the main box where you insert your CD’s/disk’s. This is the heart of your PC.











 
 
 
 
 
 
A Laptop is a personal computer used for multiple use’s. A laptop is the same as a computer but you can take it were ever you want for e.g. Another destination. It has a keyboard, a pointing device and a touchpad. They can be different sizes and shapes plus you can connect to the internet wirelessly.


A Net book is the same as a laptop but only smaller and easier to carry around with you.









A server is a computer program that provides services to other computer programs (and their users) in the same or other computers.
A server is a computer that is specifically designated to provide services for the other computers on the network. Examples of servers include web server; file server; database server and print server’s.



 

A PDA is a device that essentially helps the user organize various activities, contacts and other life tasks. It usually consists of a small computer-like gadget with a screen that has an address book, contacts, tasks and calendar inside of it. Most PDAs can also have additional programs installed into them as well. Also you can listen to music in some PDA’s while walking.
 






 
A Mobile Phone is a small device which you can call and send texts. A basic moblie phone consists of a small speaker, a small microphone, a radio, a tiny hard drive, a portable microchip called a SIM card and a battery. All mobile phones normally are encased in a plastic frame.
 
 
 
 
 
 
A video game console is an interactive entertainment computer or electronic device that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device to display a video game on the TV screen. Game console’s can be usually controlled by using a handheld device connected to the console called a controller. You can also play DVD's and CD’s on some game consoles.














A Tablet PC is a cross between a notebook PC and a personal digital assistant (PDA). It's a flat-panel portable PC in the form of a slate. Most Tablet PCs operate like laptops and desktop computers, except they are more portable.
